Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) entered the busy Thanksgiving travel period today with the expected wave of passengers filling terminals from early morning. Weather conditions are stable, but the real challenge for travelers is the huge holiday crowd and the overall strain on the national air traffic system.

What Travelers Should Know Today

Airport Operations: Busy but Functional

Logan is seeing heavy footfall, and although the terminals are crowded, airport operations are continuing steadily.

Departure Delays: Outbound flights are facing short delays, mostly due to gate traffic and long taxi times. Most delays remain around 15 minutes or less. Expect extended queues at security and airline counters.

Arrival Delays: Inbound flights are also experiencing slight holding patterns as air traffic controllers manage the high volume of aircraft heading into the region.

Cancellations: While the cancellation numbers shift throughout the day, travelers are being urged to keep an eye on airline apps in case of last-minute schedule changes linked to ongoing staffing and nationwide capacity cuts.

This marks the start of what is expected to be one of the busiest travel weeks of the year, and passengers are advised to arrive early and stay updated on flight alerts.
