Purnea Airport to Begin Commercial Flights from September 15

Jodogo Airport Assist Services

Purnea Airport (PXN) is all set to launch commercial flight operations on September 15, a milestone moment for the Seemanchal region of Bihar. This development comes under the central government’s UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) regional connectivity scheme, which aims to make air travel more accessible and affordable across India.

Flight Services Announced

IndiGo Airlines

IndiGo will operate direct flights between Purnea and Kolkata three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The service will use an ATR aircraft, making IndiGo the first airline to officially commence commercial operations from Purnea Airport.

Star Air

Star Air will also begin a direct service connecting Purnea with Ahmedabad, operating three times a week. This route is expected to provide the region with a direct link to Gujarat’s economic hub, benefiting both business and leisure travelers.
