Two things worth knowing about São Paulo

An observation. The most valuable thing we do at Guarulhos has nothing to do with speed. It's the handover. GRU arrivals opens into a large, busy hall, drivers wait in the wrong places, phone signal is patchy on landing, and a first-time visitor with no Portuguese standing in that hall trying to identify a driver they've never met is a genuinely stressful ten minutes. Removing that is worth more to most travellers than any queue we skip.

And the contrarian point. Plenty of business travellers insist on Congonhas because it's close to the city and the drive from Guarulhos looks daunting. Reasonable instinct — but check the timing rather than assuming. Guarulhos to Avenida Paulista outside peak hours is often quicker than people expect, while Congonhas at rush hour sits in dense city traffic with no relief.
